Discomfort can be managed in a variety of ways, and through life’s influence, trial and error, we develop approaches that range from healthy and helpful to dangerous and destructive. When our methods of coping with pain and discomfort interfere in one’s life, they can bring additional psychological, emotional and physical pain, ranging from minor anxiety to experiencing utter despair, impacting not only the individual but also their family/social support systems. Seeking assistance to learn about, manage symptoms, explore change, or maintain methods of support are all dynamics Mark can assist you with.
Clients who work with Mark explore and develop meaningful and achievable goals, are supported through their process, and own the results of their efforts. Social support system members are engaged in the process when appropriate, but only when preferred by the client being served. Mark offers individual, couples and family therapy at intensive, less intensive, and maintenance level intervals. Focusing on authenticity, empathic understanding and compassion, Mark offers clients a place where they can feel safe to explore life experience without judgment.
Mark’s lengthy history of treating those struggling with addiction, relationship issues, parenting, anxiety, OCD, depression, co-dependency, self-harm, domestic abuse, eating disorders, trauma, grief/loss, behavioral disorders, ADHD and LGBTQ+ dynamics, has allowed him to draw from a variety of treatment styles and approaches.
Mark previously served as a full-time Instructor at Central Connecticut State University, as Intervention Specialist and Program Manager at Wheeler Clinic, as Clinical Director of Hartford Healthcare’s Detoxification and Residential Addiction Services, and most recently as Clinical Director at Steps to Recovery in Levittown, PA, aiding clients at the Partial Hospitalization, Intensive Outpatient and General Outpatient levels of care.
